Eight-week programme
To help applicants to Oxford or Cambridge get the best preparation they possibly can for their application, we have created a carefully tailored eight-week programme, offering comprehensive sessions on all stages of the Oxbridge application.
Initial Consultation
As part of the Online Summer School, students will benefit from an initial consultation with our very own Oxbridge or Medical school experts. This provides the opportunity for them to ask any questions they have about the relevant application process, and to reaffirm their choices in terms of university, college, and course. This consultation will then allow our team to match each student with their own personal tutor who best suits their needs.
Mentoring Sessions
For each week of the programme, students will be able to schedule a mentoring session led by our Oxbridge and Medical School graduates, who will act as tutors and mentors. These sessions will cover a range of skills and topics, including coaching and advice across a variety of disciplines, interview preparation help, advice with regards to further reading, and subject-specific questioning. To maximise the impact each session has, feedback is given after every session, so the applicant can grow and develop constructively over the eight weeks.
Mock Interviews
Mock Interviews will kick off from Week Four of the summer school programme. We realise that the interview stage of the application process can be daunting for students. Students will have the opportunity to have four hour-long mock interviews (one per week), with one of our expert graduate tutors from either Oxbridge or a Medical school. Each mock interview is with a different tutor, enabling applicants to feel comfortable with the idea of being interviewed by someone unfamiliar. After each session, tutors will provide detailed feedback which is designed to help the applicant improve any lacking areas. With the mock interviews placed at once a week, students will have time to take on board the feedback and make any necessary improvements before their next mock interview the following week.
Personal Statement Review
The personal statement is one of the most crucial elements of any Oxbridge or Medical School application. Our expert tutors will work closely with students to review separate drafts of their personal statement. To help applicants write the best personal statements they can, tutors will provide supportive and constructive feedback via regular correspondence over video meetings and a final written review.
Final Interview
The last stage of our programme is the final interview. This practice is the closest to a real Oxbridge or Medical School interview possible. Each student will be paired with a real Oxbridge or Medical School admissions tutor who will conduct a formal and authentic mock interview. Feedback will be provided afterwards, allowing the applicant to finesse any last details before the big day.
